🌱 My Story
Hi, I’m Tina—the creator of Lead First.
As a first-generation college student, I’ve often felt the pressure of figuring things out without a clear path or mentor to follow. From building leadership experience to learning how to network and find career opportunities, I know how overwhelming and isolating it can feel to try to “get it right” while navigating unfamiliar spaces.

Lead First began as a personal project, a way for me to process what I was learning while creating something that could help others in the same boat, my way of turning those lessons into something useful for other first-gen students, quiet leaders, and anyone figuring it out as they go.

Why I Started This
Trust me, I know leadership feels impossible when you don’t come from a background where it’s openly talked about or modeled. When I first started college, I didn’t know who to ask for help or what “professionalism” really looked like.
Lead First was born from that uncertainty and the desire to make things just a little clearer for the next person.

Capturing Student Leadership: My Creative Portfolio
One of my favorite ways to tell stories is through the lens of my camera.

As a student leader, I’ve photographed the moments that define campus life—events, culture nights, retreats, and the behind-the-scenes hustle that often goes unnoticed. Every photo featured on Lead First is taken by me (except the ones of myself, of course!).

These snapshots capture growth, connection, and purpose.

Through Lead First, I bring that same storytelling lens to highlight the heart of student leadership.

What I Hope You Take Away
More than anything, I hope Lead First feels like a space where you're seen, heard, and supported.

You don’t need to have everything figured out to start leading. You just need the willingness to try, to learn, and to grow.

Thanks for being here—I’m so excited to grow alongside you.
